The concept of metamaterials/metasurfaces has brought about vigorous impetus to the developments of antennas and radomes, both from the ideology and methodology, and they have been providing effective solutions in improving the communication security and reducing the radar cross sections (RCS) of the antenna in stealth platform. Due to their unique responses, they can perform as a radome or reflector for an antenna, or they are even integrated with antennas. To promote the excellent research, this special session focuses on the recent progresses on novel antennas and radomes based on metamaterials/metasurfaces, including the relevant new working mechanisms, design methods and techniques, multi-function integration, etc.
