Session Infomation

A number of highly-promising optical technologies are under development that rely on new contrast mechanisms or take the advantage of the complementary fields to visualize and manipulate molecular and cellular interactions, as well as to assess the structure and function of biological tissues. Examples include the use of optical methods to investigate cell and tissue biomechanics, novel tissue imaging and quantification approaches, photo-diagnostics and machine learning for guiding therapeutics. Moreover, a lot of new ideas are emerging based on advanced biomaterials, integration techniques, progress in instrumentation, physical basis and data analysis. This session presents a highly interdisciplinary forum of interest to instrument designers, basic and applied clinical researchers, and other scientists who are interested in novel methodologies in biophotonics.
